Getting Ready

There is a lot of planning that goes along with a 3 week backpacking trip. Nicole as 22 year old and me as a 46 year old have different styles. Nicole and her friend Ryan ( who is joining us on our adventure) have some experience with easy going trips in hostels etc. I am striving to be more spontaneous and flexible. I needed a rough plan, to know where I was going to be sleeping every night. We have all our accommodations reserved, they range from hotels, to hostels, to a cabin in a campsite and a B&B on an island. There are maps to look at, apps to download, luggage to sort out, clothes to buy and tickets to print. It is truly a learning experience and I have loved every minute of it so far. Fun fact- did you know that Switzerland still has it's own currency? I didn't. I went yesterday to get a little bit of all the different cash I am going to need since it's not safe to carry around too much cash as there is so much theft. Money around the world comes in all different shapes and sizes.

New adventure

Nicole and I are starting a new adventure on Friday. We really wanted to come up wih a way to share our experience with family and friends back at home. Since we are not taking a computer with us it has limited our choices and the ease of how were can go about doing it. After 3 hours I think I have finally figured it out! We started a new blog on blogspot and can access it with an app called Blogsy on our iPads. This is our starting test post and hopefully we can get it up and published.
