We wanted to spend our last day in Paris at the Versailles chateau. We had to take a metro, a tram and a train to get there. It took a little bit of manovering but we got there. Our train was a double decker train which I had never seen before- it was neat.
The palace was like nothing I have ever seen before. It was by far and away the biggest building ever. The garden with all it's intricate sculpting, fountains and statues was something to be beholden. I tried to take pictures but nothing I could do could capture the absolute beauty and vastness of this place. There were at least 2000 people going through the house with us. It cost €18 for the tour which was worth it. Nicole has been very lucky with our tours, since she is currently a resident of the UK with her visa and is under 25 she has gotten into these places for free! She is a happy camper about that :)
After we completed our tour and wandered through the gardens we headed back towards our hotel. We stopped in to a cafe for a drink and some people watching. The cafés are really neat, they have tables right out on the street and the fronts of the buildings are open as well.
This is what Nicole, Ryan and I ordered at the cafe, can you guess who's is what? Food and drinks in the cafés are not cheap, coca cola light as it is called here is as expensive if not more expensive then beer.
After our bit of relaxation it was time to grab our bags and head to the airport. I figured out a better way to carry my packs, put the little front one on first THEN the big bag one- those straps hold the little one in place better. Nicole and I were well balanced machines on the 30 minute bus ride to the airport which we spent standing in the middle of a very crowded aisle.
We have had a fantastic time in Paris and are so excited to continue or adventures in Rome!

Your hotel in Paris looks beautiful. Those gates look more elaborate than Kate and Williams. I knew (from other's experience) that you would be happier about the cost of food (and everything) once you left Paris. Every time I see those backpacks my back starts to ache. Do you have any kind of guess as to how much weight you are walking around with.
